It is the remains of the Jomon Period (4500 ~ 5000 years ago) and located on a plateau
at 1300m above the sea level, which is the highest location of such remains.

There are 50 pit dwellings and fifty to sixty thousand pieces of stoneware and earth ware have been found. Two of the pit dwellings have been restored.

Some of the artifacts are displayed at the Cultural Centre in the village.
